Gippsland Bolts and Fasteners have many years of experience supplying high quality Hobson petrochemical studbolts. Available in a range of standard and specialized coatings such as inorganic zinc silicate, 1PX1 (Moly), and xylan 1424 series - blue and green. Grade B7 studbolts manufactured to ASTM A193/A193M and Grade 2H Heavy hex nuts to ASTM A194/A194M are available from our store and also other grades and coatings are available upon request. These studbolt kits are offered in various standard sizes but can also be made to your specifications.

Mechanical Plating

Recommended on high tensile fasteners up 2” diameter and 14” in length.Benefits:

Inorganic Zinc Silicate

Highly recommended for extremely corrosive environments.

  • 25-35 micron of Zinc
  • No blocked threads

1PX1 (Moly)

Benefits:
  • Thread lubricant is part of the fastener
  • Greatly reduced friction co-efficient
  • Excellent corrosion resistance up to 350 degrees C
  • Excellent resistance to both acids and alkalines
  • Well proven in the market place

Xylan 1424 Series - Blue and Green

Benefits:
  • Thread lubricant part of fastener
  • Greatly reduced friction co-efficient
  • Excellent corrosion resistance. <15% red rust after 1488 hours salt spray
  • Reduces make up torque by as much as 70%
  • Operating temperature -40 degrees C to 205 degrees C.
